Brighton Cemetorians AGM

The guest speaker at the Brighton Cemetorians AGM is Professor Shalin Naik from the Walter and Eliza Institute of Medical Research. Shalin will talk about Eliza Hall who, in 1912, created a charitable trust in honour of her late husband, Walter. He will also talk about Dr Gordon Clunes McKay Mathison, who was to have been the Institute’s first Director, but was killed in World War I before he could take up his post. Dr Mathison is remembered on the headstone of the family grave at the Brighton General Cemetery. To add to this already interesting address, he will talk about the Medical Research over the decades.
