The Annual General Meeting of the Brighton Cemetorians will be held on Sunday, August 8 2021 at 1.00pm

The Guest Speaker is Dr Rosemary Francis, who will talk about the Gagliardi Family. Carlo Catani and his friends, Ferdinando Gagliardi, Pietro Baracchi and Ettore Checchi, left Italy for Australia via New Zealand and after a brief sojourn, Catani, Baracchi and Checchi sailed onto Victoria, where they arrived in September 1876. Later, Ferdinando Gagliardi was to arrive in Melbourne in February 1877, soon to be joined by another Tuscan immigrant, Paolo Dattari. Ferdinando was the Assistant Head Librarian of the Melbourne Public Library.

Venue:  Camden Hotel, 414 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield South.  Afternoon tea will be served.
