SUMMARY:Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery Tour - Convicts and Felons Tour
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries present –  Convicts and Felons Tour \nWe are pleased to present some of the felons who have been confirmed as guests of a harsh and unbending English penal system. A system that chose to shipthem half way round the world\, forcing them to leave loved ones behind forever. Some faced trivial charges and others\, who were more committed criminals\, continued to rail against the system on their arrival. All have fascinating stories to tell of how they survived the often cruel punishment meant to break them\, with many going on to make a new life for themselves in the areas that made up the old Parish of Moorabbin. \nWhen: 1:30 pm Sunday\, May 28\, 2023. Where: Meet inside the gate of Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery\, Charman Road\, Cheltenham. \nCost: $12 Members $15 Non-members. Afternoon tea refreshments provided. Bookings Required: info@focrc.org or call 9497 1318  https://www.focrc.org/ \nWe tour come rain\, hail or shine; so come prepared with suitable clothing and footwear.
