The Berwick Mechanics’ Institute and Free Library invite you to a talk – The Social History of Mechanics’ Institutes presented by Heather Arnold, history enthusiast and formerly Local History Librarian. Heather will speak about the role played for over 180 years by Mechanics’ Institutes in buildings from the humble to the splendid. Light refreshments to follow.
