Narre Warren & District Family History Group meeting – Early Aboriginal involvement in Victoria’s military forces
Guest Speaker Peter Bakker will share the latest information on what is now known about early Aboriginal involvement in Australia’s military forces, with specific examples from Victoria’s Aboriginal communities. He will touch on the treatment of Aboriginals at the time, their reasons for enlisting, the results of their service and how their contributions are being recognised today. Peter will be happy to answer any questions and would be delighted if you have any information/experiences related to the talk topic to share with him. Some of his self-published booklets are available to purchase.
